The number of sold robots have never increased so strongly before as for the latest year. By referring to IFR latest report: In 2017, robot sales increased by 30%, a new peak for the fifth year in a row. Since 2010, the demand for industrial robots has accelerated considerably due to the ongoing trend toward automation and continued innovative technical improvements in industrial robots.

The demand of industrial robots in the manufacturing industry have also opened many doors for the collaborative robots. These are equipped with advanced sensor technology that enables them to interact safely with humans. In addition to monitoring the robot’s position and speed, these sensors stop and retract the robot safely should contact occur with a human. The new CR-15 robot is further developed to fit perfectly for industrial applications, and fills the gap between the existing CR-7 and CR-35 in FANUC´s “cobot” range.

We already see increased sales for FANUC Nordic due to the new robot, since the new robot is a great fit for food industry applications. FANUC has recently established a new partner in the Norwegian market where we have started to develop a standardised solution particularly for the food industry. With already several sold units and a lifting capacity of 15 kilo, the possibilities are great to increase the sales of FANUC's collaborative robots", says Cerold Andersson.
