Machining Reimagined with New FANUC High-accuracy, High-stiffness Robot
Comprising two models, the M‑810/270-27B (270 kg payload) and the M‑810/190-20B (190 kg payload), the M-810 series delivers significantly enhanced machining capability for demanding applications. The M-810/270-27B offers a payload of 270 kg and a reach of 2.7 m, providing a larger operating space and substantially higher machining load compared with previous models.
This performance enables manufacturers to machine large or complex components more effectively, supporting industries such as automotive, aerospace and general manufacturing where part size and flexibility are critical considerations.
Precision and consistency built in
The new M-810 series benefits from FANUC’s 𝑖RCalibration Signature technology, which ensures consistent absolute positioning and path accuracy, even under demanding operating conditions.
Enhanced stiffness and control technology further ensures process stability. The system automatically recognises cutting forces and adapts in real time, maintaining consistent machining quality and minimising deviation from the programmed tool path even under demanding loads.
Flexibility beyond traditional machine tools
With its six-axis articulated design, the M-810 series allows tools to approach the workpiece from multiple directions. This flexibility provides access to areas that may be difficult or impossible to reach with conventional machine tools, while also enabling more adaptable production layouts.
Manufacturers can reconfigure cells or repurpose equipment as requirements evolve, supporting future-proof production strategies and improved use of factory space.
Designed for real-world machining environments
The M-810 series is built for reliability in demanding industrial conditions. With IP67 protection, the robots operate effectively in environments involving coolant, chips and swarf.
The series is powered by the latest FANUC R-50𝑖A robot controller, combined with a lightweight touch-panel Teach Pendant to support ease of use, advanced path control and robust cybersecurity.
A practical alternative to large CNC machines
Machining with robots is attracting increasing interest for large-scale components, including gigacastings. Instead of investing in oversized machine tools with high capital expenditure, manufacturers can deploy robotic machining cells where robots operate around a fixed part.
