Task: ITD is a Bulgarian company specialising in the production of moulds, PET preforms, plastic bottles,
vials and caps. In the town of Saedinenie, the company has built innovative, high-efficiency,
ecological production facilities designed for manufacturing plastic products which are guaranteed to
be of high quality and have limited impact on the environment. ITD's main objectives are:
environmentally sound production and sustainable development involving the implementation of
power-saving state-of-the-art technologies. To guarantee its continuous production cycle – 24/7
throughout the working week – the company is currently striving to achieve maximum serviceability
and trouble-free operation with all its machines.
Solution: To implement its vision, the company has initiated a program whereby existing hydraulic injection
moulding machines are to be replaced with all-electric ones, and its production facilities now include
five FANUC ROBOSHOT injection moulding machines with a different clamping force level. Regarding
its instrument production needs, ITD has now deployed two FANUC ROBODRILL vertical machining
centres to cover them. To guarantee minimal unplanned production downtime, the company has
been relying on FANUC Bulgaria’s service for the maintenance of owned FANUC equipment, and has
done so for 30 years.
Result:
Having deployed FANUC industrial equipment, ITD has managed to reduce its production costs and
has achieved a consistently high quality level. During the monitoring of energy consumption, it was
established that FANUC machines provide 50% energy savings, which makes ITD's products
extremely competitive. The new generation ROBOSHOT all-electric machines now added to our
machine park boost productivity, lower costs and use no waste hydraulic oils (compared to hydraulic
machines). The emergency downtime of ITD's FANUC equipment has been minimised thanks to the
company seizing upon the benefits offered by the complex maintenance services offered by FANUC
Bulgaria.
