FANUC UK Sales up by 20%

The amalgamation of three divisions into one at FANUC UK in 2015 has certainly proved a positive factor with the Coventry company with it just announcing sales increasing by 20% on the previous financial year.

By integrating 3 divisions into one facility, FANUC now has its FANUC Robotics,  FANUC Controls and FANUC Machine Tools all working out of the West Midlands facility. This now means the business has total control and flexibility over the products, systems and automation projects that it conducts.

Further enhancing synergy, FANUC now trains its engineers across the board in all areas of the business. This has helped bolster growth with service/spares and machine sales. In addition, FANUC UK has also introduced new engineers and recruited more sales staff to underpin the ongoing business growth.

The result has undoubtedly been impressive with FANUC noting their first major automation cell installation in 2015. This project consisted of 9 robots and 9 machine tools that were ordered as a single source solution for an automotive supplier. The machines ordered within the cell were DL iA5 long bed ROBODRILL machining centres with 24,000rpm high speed spindles.

The combination of this landmark automotive order along with other significant installations has culminated in a sales increase of 20%, with over 50% of projects being supplied to manufacturers that are new customers to FANUC. The performance characteristics of the machine tools delivered unprecedented growth levels in the automotive, subcontract and medical industry sectors.

As the door opens on 2016, FANUC is expecting to improve its UK performance with a particularly large presence at MACH 2016 and the arrival of new products from the Robotics, EDM and Robodrill machine tool divisions.
