Mikron Plus
Automating the Machining of Large Ring-Shaped Bearings with Robots
A robotic cell was created to machine large ring-shaped bearings. A FANUC R-2000𝑖C/210L robot, with a 210-kg capacity and 3D Vision Sensor, loads and unloads rings into a vertical CNC lathe. Mikron Plus used FANUC's CNC Servo Learning Oscillation to break long chips into smaller pieces. This solution increased productivity, reduced costs, and ensured high accuracy and quality while minimising labour dependency.

FANUC Case Studies
Explore our comprehensive range of factory automation solutions, showcased in detailed case studies, and designed to optimise and streamline any manufacturing process.
Machine Tending
Automate machine tending with robots to significantly enhance your production by providing superior accuracy and continuous operation, unlike manual tending. Increase efficiency, achieve consistent output, and reduce labour costs and add substantial value to your entire production process.
Vision Inspection
Vision inspection technology enhances your manufacturing processes with image-based automated systems that accurately inspect and analyse objects. Advanced vision inspection solutions use cutting-edge cameras, sensors, and software to capture and process images, detect defects, measure dimensions, and ensure your products meet the highest quality standards.
CNC Turning
CNC turning is a machining process where a cutting tool removes material from a rotating workpiece to create precise cylindrical shapes. It is ideal for producing parts with complex geometries and tight tolerances. In order to maximise your turning centre or lathe’s output, having a good CNC capable of managing and optimising a whole array of turning processes is essential. In addition to maximising productivity, a good CNC will also provide you with the flexibility to reduce turnaround times on small batches.
