The Laser Interface Unit (LIU) provides real-time control of any third-party laser source. With advanced control systems such as the 0š‘–-LF Plus, 30š‘–-LB Plus, and 31š‘–-LB Plus CNCs, our solutions support both flat material processing, complex 5-axis laser cutting and Laser Hybrid Machining (a combination of turning, grinding machines with laser).

The Mā€‘800/60ā€‘20B robot is the optimal choice for highā€‘precision 3D laser cutting and welding. With a wide range of software options, our versatile 6ā€‘axis robots can be easily integrated into arcā€‘laser hybrid welding and laser additive manufacturing applications, and can also enhance machine automation for loading and unloading processes.
For remote welding applications, the tight integration of the LS3Dš‘–ā€‘A laser scanner with our robot controller ensures precise weld placement across a wide work area.

Laser Gap Control

If laser cutting machines are equipped with a sensor that measures the distance between the nozzle and the workpiece surface, our gap control function can transmit the sensorā€™s signal to the CNC via a special interface. This allows precise Z-axis control, enhancing cutting accuracy and optimizing the gap.

Automatic gap control during axis retraction

This automatic gap control function allows retraction along the gap control axis while positioning from one cut point to the next on the X/Y axis. It also allows machining along the gap control axis while moving to the next cut point, without stopping the gap control mode. This ensures a seamless transition to the next cutting phase and significantly reduces machining time.

Power Control

This function adapts the laser power to the cutting process by controlling the laser power, frequency and duty cycle in real time. In other words, the laser power and axis feed are synchronised. This prevents burning and overheating, even when cutting very narrow angles at high speed. This enables stable, high-quality laser cutting, even with challenging cutting geometries.

Edge Cutting Function

This function enables sharper edges and reduces cycle times, especially with thicker materials, by detecting sharp angles in the cutting path and automatically adjusting the cutting speed and conditions. In addition to better cut surfaces, this feature also increases throughput and machine performance.

Setting Function for Cutting Conditions

Our cutting condition setting function stores your machining parameters, such as laser power, frequency and duty cycle, in an E-code command table. This creates a clear programme structure for your parts and simplifies procedures, saving time on repetitive jobs.
The compact and high-precision FANUC 3D laser scanner LS3Di-A is designed for mass production requiring a very high laser welding process speed. The FANUC laser scanner can be seamlessly integrated with FANUC robots resulting in the highest synchronization on the fly, without additional hardware and software. It is possible to create both robot and scanner programs simultaneously in ROBOGUIDE, as well as set robot paths and laser output conditions automatically. A welding monitoring sensor, available as an option, can support real-time welding quality inspection.

3D Laser Scanner

The compact and high-precision 3D laser scanner LS3Dš‘–-A is designed for mass production requiring a very high laser welding process speed. The FANUC laser scanner can be seamlessly integrated with FANUC robots resulting in the highest synchronisation on the fly.
