Paint Plant Brushes Inefficiency Aside with FANUC Robots

Keramik Makina was tasked with providing a number of automated packing and palletising operations at the paint factory of Polisan Kansai in Dilovasi, Türkiye. The plant fills around 15 tubs of paint (7.5 litres each) for the home decorating market every minute.

At the paint factory of Keramik customer Polisan Kansai, FANUC’s purpose-designed M-410𝑖C series four-axis palletising robots see engagement in a variety of high-efficiency tasks. Alongside a number of high-quality palletising operations, these tasks include loading multiple paint tubs to the cap control unit and loading tubs to the positioner unit on the stretch hood line.

Stretch hood applications protect palletised loads from environmental factors such as humidity, dust, rain and sunlight, as well as possible transport damage. A stretch hood is a cost-effective system designed to bring a sustainable approach to packaging and improve productivity. Offering both vertical and horizontal film tension, the machines feature a simple and maintenance-friendly film feed device, vacuum film opening system, encoder-monitored mechanical stretch units and a film applicator.

Some FANUC robots operate in pairs on the same stretch hood and palletising lines, providing perfect harmony and further increasing efficiency. The combination of Ceramic system integration knowledge and FANUC robot technology means Polisan Kansai can now achieve an impressive production capacity of 4000 tons (or 5700 pallets) per day.
