Press Release | May 15th 2018

The Japanese factory automation company FANUC will be showcasing a wide range of robots – including the newly launched SCARA Robots and the recently launched ROBODRILL Apha-DiB5 Advanced Series – at ELMIA, Scandinavia’s premium automation trade fair. With its 374 sqm booth, visitors to the exhibition will be able to interact with the new FANUC robots for the first time in Scandinavia, along with many other FANUC solutions, including the company’s collaborative robot series, and the FANUC M-2000iA; the world´s strongest robot.

The new high-speed SCARA (Selective Compliance Articulated Robot Arm) Robots, have a work envelope of 360°, a reach of up to 650 mm, and deliver precision to ± 0.01mm, making them ideal for use in small robotic assembly applications. ROBODRILL Apha-DiB5 Advanced Series is the latest in the company’s series of high-performance, compact machining centers. This new addition to the ROBODRILL family – which has seen over 240,000 units produced – can accept tools weighing up to 4 kg and manages tool change time in 0.7 seconds.

“We have witnessed a big growth in the uptake of automation in the region, so it makes sense for us to increase our presence here at ELMIA,” says Cerold Andersson, Managing Director, FANUC Nordic. This is particularly good timing as we have two new solutions to premier for the Scandinavian public. We expect demand across the Nordic market to continue to grow as companies look to remain efficient and competitive, which means many exciting opportunities for FANUC’s advanced technology,” he continues.

“FANUC’s range includes everything from the smallest industry robots to the world’s most powerful commercially available robot, and many of these will be on display at our booth,” says Linn Lindblad, FANUC Nordic Marketing Manager. “Our series of Collaborative Robots will be working together to show customers what they can expect from them in an application. Additionally, the powerful FANUC M-2000iA will be in action, showing what it is capable of delivering in terms of payload, maneuverability and accuracy,” she continues.

Visitors to the stand can also see a demonstration of FANUC’s approach to IoT in the form of MT-LINKi. In addition to this, FANUC also includes its advanced operating systems including the “Zero Down Time technology” network, an AI-based system that monitors 10,000 robots across 27 countries to prevent downtime, while providing customers with operation support.
