FANUC places Product Customization centre in Contern, Luxembourg



Echternach, 28 April 2016 - During the past year, FANUC Europe has restructured and expanded its European logistics operations essentially. The first initiative of expanding the existing European Spare Parts Warehouse in Echternach by 7,000 m2 has already been finalized.


Closely following is the set-up of a 20 000 m2 warehouse for Product customization, centrally located in brand new facilities in Contern, Luxembourg City. This warehouse, with its connection to transport networks will play a central role in the logistics project, and will serve as the central Logistic Hub and Product Customization centre. 


Preceding FANUC’s arrival to the warehouse in 2017, the main project of building the new Contern facilities were officially initiated via a ground breaking ceremony last week. In relation to the ceremony, Kuehne & Nagel who is the initiator of the project, held a Press Conference explaining the initiative of developing the new 46,000 m2 building. 


For FANUC, the involvement and leasing of the Contern warehouse space means both a great opportunity to further enhance its European operations, but also an occasion to be involved and contribute to Luxembourg's logistics industry.
